For your convenience, we have established a network of approved exam invigilation centres within the country of Canada. If you are studying in Canada, you can use the links on the left to find an exam invigilation centre in the province or territory in which you wish to write. If you are studying outside of Canada, you should follow the guidelines below to select a location to write your exam.
Note: We try to update this information on an annual basis. However, fees are subject to change for each centre without notice. If you find a discrepancy in the information, please let us know.
If you live within 100 km of an AU examination centre, you are required to write your examinations at one of the centres. You are not required to use the nearest centre; you may use any centre in the network that meets your needs and schedule.
To eliminate conflict of interest problems, exams cannot be invigilated by other AU students, relatives, friends, neighbours, coworkers, immediate supervisors, and people residing at your address of residence.
If you are writing your exam at a location other than an exam invigilation centre in our network, you are required to write at an accredited post-secondary institution, for example, a Community College or Technical Institute, in either their examination centre or under the supervision of a professor or instructor. If no such institution is within a 100 km radius, you are required to write at an educational institution such as a high school with a suitable invigilator such as a teacher. If none of these options is available, please check out our Virtual Invigilation. If this doesn't work for you, contact Examination Services in the Office of the Registrar to determine a suitable location.
For more information regarding writing outside of the exam invigilation network, visit the invigilator guidelines section of the AU calendar.
Note: Exams must be sent directly to the educational institution address. Most invigilators charge for invigilation. You are responsible for covering all exam invigilation related costs.
The university is collaborating with ProctorU to allow you the opportunity to write your online exams from the comfort and convenience of any suitable location with internet access while an invigilator supervises you remotely through the use of a webcam and a high speed internet connection. This will allow you to write your exam at any time and at any location that has suitable internet bandwidth.
